Barcelona Announce Future Plans for Fati
FC Barcelona have put to bed rumours of animosity between club management and forward Ansu Fati by offering him a hugely lucrative extension.
Previously, there have been rumours of a feud between his representatives and the top brass of the Catalan giants regarding a statute concerning contract renewals of underage players.
However, on Wednesday night, 20 October, Barcelona’s official website declared that the 18-year-old wunderkind had accepted the deal to stay with the team until 30 June 2027, with a €1 billion release clause.
They added that Fati’s official acceptance of the contract would happen the following day, along with a photo session.
The Spanish footballer first joined the Spanish team’s youth academy in 2012, then made his first professional appearance on 24 July 2019 during a La Liga match against Real Betis, while only 16-years-old.
Since then, the prodigious talent has gone on to break several records, including being the youngest Barca player ever to start a game against Valencia.
